Belarus announced a surprise inspection of troops

In 2022, Belarus gave Russia its territory to invade Ukraine and attack Kiev.
Belarus announced a surprise inspection of troops in Gomel and Brest regions. Military units and subdivisions of operational commands, special operations forces, missile troops and artillery, air force and air defence forces are involved in the inspection. Ukraine is monitoring the situation. A representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, said this.
At the same time, he pointed out that the situation on the territory of Belarus does not pose a threat to Ukraine.
There is no accumulation of troops or personnel on the Belarusian side of the border," said Demchenko.
He pointed out that Belarus periodically conducts exercises and organises a demonstration of military training of troops.
But if we talk about the threat, when Russia kept its troops there and their number could be up to 12 thousand soldiers, then at the moment Russia has no units in this direction, which it could use against Ukraine," said the speaker of the State Security Service of Ukraine.
Demchenko added that although the current positions of the Belarusian army do not cause concern, the task of the Defence Forces is to be ready for any event at any time, so the Ukrainian border is constantly reinforced.
Intelligence is monitoring what is happening on the other side. There are no threats as of now, but we continue to strengthen the border and border guards," he added.
Since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Belarus has been helping the aggressor country. In particular, the so-called "exercises" with Russia have been continuously held on the territory of Belarus since 29 April 2022.
