The US provides military, financial and humanitarian support to Ukraine in its war with Russia.
White House chief Joe Biden intends to announce a new $375m military aid package for Ukraine. The US president plans to do so after he meets Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Hiroshima, Japan, at the G7 summit. This is reported by Politico, citing three US and Ukrainian officials.
As the publication notes, the new military aid package will include artillery shells, armoured vehicles and anti-tank weapons.
The package will also include equipment that will be badly needed during the months of fierce fighting expected this spring and summer as part of a counterattack," the report said.
It should be noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski arrived in Japan on Saturday 20 May. He will take part in the G7 summit.
Earlier Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Saudi Arabia, where he took part in the summit of the Arab League.
