Ukraine is one of the most mined countries in the world.
On Sunday, October 2, in the Chernihiv region, a car with people in the cabin ran into a mine, after which an explosion occurred. Four people died. They were residents of the area. This was announced by the head of the Chernihiv OVA Vyacheslav Chaus.
A car with four civilians stumbled upon a mine in the forest near Shestovitsa. All have died, the statement said.
According to Chaus, people ignored the warning signs, as well as a temporary ban on visiting the forests, and drove into an area that was listed as likely to be mined.
Once again, I emphasize: express demining has been carried out in the region (fields, houses, roadsides near highways), while continuous demining will take years, - Chaus added.
Note that in the Kharkiv region explosives cleared a dam in the village. Great Passages. This was announced by the deputy head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region Sergey Bolvinov. He noted that while checking for explosives near the dam, experts found 175 kilograms of TNT, 68 anti-tank mines and electric detonators - a total TNT equivalent of about 650 kilograms. The explosion of all explosives and explosive devices found near the dam would lead to the flooding of entire villages and towns.
