The exercise was to involve "peacekeeping contingents" from all six CSTO countries.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this at a press conference on Tuesday.
According to him, the Armenian Defence Ministry has informed the Collective Security Treaty Organisation that Yerevan does not consider it appropriate to hold CSTO military exercises in the country.
The Armenian Defense Minister informed the CSTO joint staff in writing that we do not believe it is appropriate to hold military exercises on the territory of Armenia in this situation. These military exercises will not take place this year.
This year's CSTO "peacekeeping" exercise "Unbreakable Brotherhood" was to be held in Armenia. These exercises are command-staff exercises, which involve "peacekeeping contingents" of all six CSTO countries.
It is worth recalling that the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan escalated in mid-September last year. However, CSTO members argue only that the situation should be resolved through diplomatic means. This does not suit Armenia.
