Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of several settlements in the south - General Staff

As the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in the morning report on May 5, the enemy did not take active actions in the Volyn, Polessky and Seversk directions.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy continues shelling Kharkov and conducting reconnaissance. In the area north of the city of Izyum, artillery and mortar shelling continues.

In the Donetsk and Tauride directions, Russian troops continue shelling along the line of confrontation, using operational-tactical and army aviation to deliver missile and bomb strikes in order to tie down the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted. that enemy units are trying to conduct offensive operations in the Limansky, Severodonetsky and Popasnyansky directions, they are not successful. On the Avdiivka and Kurakhov directions, the enemy continues to fire at the positions of the defenders of Ukraine.

In Mariupol, the main efforts of the invaders are focused on blocking and trying to destroy Ukrainian units in the Azovstal area. With the support of aviation, they resumed their offensive in order to take control of the territory of the plant.

In the Yuzhnobuzhsk direction, the troops of the Russian Federation did not carry out active hostilities. They carried out missile and bomb strikes on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the infrastructure of the region.

On the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past day, eleven enemy attacks were repulsed, five tanks, seven units of armored combat vehicles and five units of enemy vehicles were destroyed.
