An expert explained why Musk will not win the US election

The next US election to elect some senators and congressmen will be held in November 2026.
The American political system, which is oriented towards the dominance of two parties - Democratic and Republican, makes it almost impossible for successful third forces to emerge. This opinion was expressed in an interview with LIGA.net by Douglas Klein, an analyst and freelance researcher at the Atlantic Council.
In his opinion, Ilon Musk's ambitions to create his American Party are doomed to failure, as it is extremely difficult for third parties to make their way to the highest political level in the USA.
The US electoral system does not give third parties a chance to win, and this is a serious obstacle," the expert said.
He explained that the main feature of the American electoral system is the majoritarian principle, under which the winner takes everything, no matter how big his victory was. This leads to a concentration of votes in the hands of the two major parties, making voting for representatives of smaller parties often futile. In such a system, political competition for new players becomes almost impossible.
Klein also expressed doubts about Musk's viability in politics. With each step into the political arena, he said, the billionaire's popularity declines.
The more Musk gets involved in politics, the less support he has," he added.
The analyst recalled that Musk was a supporter of liberal views before his relationship with Donald Trump drastically changed his political beliefs.
Musk, with his extravagant ideas, faces the difficulty of realising them. He can declare many ambitious plans, but he does not always turn them into reality," the expert concluded.
