Zelensky said whether talks with Putin are now possible

Ukraine and Russia are not holding peace talks at the moment. As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, the only negotiations that Ukraine and the Russian Federation are holding concern the exchange of prisoners.
Ukraine must take a strong position in negotiations with Russia. Otherwise, such contacts will be a loss for Kiev. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with Ukrainian Radio.
He noted that Ukraine was "in a pretty good position" in terms of air defence. And pointed out the agreements with allies on missiles for Patriot, NASAMS, HAWK, IRIS-T and other systems, which makes the Ukrainian air defence strong. At the same time, he emphasised that the enemy is preparing for attacks on many parts of the front, trying to seize more Ukrainian land before hypothetical talks.
I think Putin doesn't want peace at all. But that doesn't mean he doesn't want to sit down at the negotiating table with any of the leaders. Why? Because for him it's about breaking the political isolation that has been built since the beginning of the war. And it is profitable for him to sit down, to talk and not to negotiate, I would say so, which is favourable for Putin," he said.
Zelensky stressed that it is profitable for the head of the Kremlin to drag out the process and that Putin wants only one thing - surrender from Ukraine.
But no one will give him this," Zelenskyy noted.
The Ukrainian president pointed out that an important condition for the negotiation process would be the position of the USA, and rather Donald Trump himself. The head of Ukraine added that the USA should maintain the position of support that Ukraine is a victim and Russia is an aggressor and violator of international law. In the president's opinion, it is this notion that should be used to start negotiations on any platform.
