Zelensky named two of Putin's "true allies" and called for action

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an important statement at an international conference on the country's reconstruction in Rome.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said at a conference on rebuilding the country in Rome that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin relies on only two allies in his war against Ukraine - terror and winter.
"Putin has only two real 'allies' - terror and winter. We must respond to both," he said.
The head of state also emphasised the need for active investment in the energy sector, which Russia tries to influence every winter. Zelensky noted that more than 500 companies are represented at the conference, ready to sign about 200 agreements worth over 10 billion euros, and called for their full implementation with special attention to the energy sector.
We would like to point out that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a plan to prepare Ukraine for the new heating season. In particular, the plan envisages repairs in the energy sector, preparation of houses, hospitals, schools and heating networks. Fuel and necessary materials will also be stockpiled.
