Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski, speaking by video link to the leaders of industrialised nations gathered for the G20 summit in Indonesia.
The president has called for an end to the war being waged in Ukraine by Russia.
Zelensky said in his video address:
I am convinced that now is the time when Russia's destructive war must and can be stopped. It will save thousands of lives.
Zelensky said that the war must end fairly and on the basis of the UN Charter and international law.
The Ukrainian president called for the restoration of radiation safety at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, a price cap on Russian energy resources and an expansion of the initiative to export Ukrainian grain.
The Ukrainian president also called for the release of all Ukrainian prisoners of war, suggesting that Russia should exchange prisoners according to the "all for all" formula.
Zelenskyy also voiced the "Ukrainian formula for peace" of 10 points, after the implementation of which peace with Russia will be possible:
- Radiation and nuclear safety;
- Food security;
- Energy security;
- Release of all prisoners and deportees;
- Implementation of the UN Charter and restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and world order;
- Withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities;
- Restoration of justice;
- Countering ecocide;
- Preventing escalation;
- Fixing the end of the war
