Much of the discussion focused on the dangers of Moscow's nuclear threats against Ukraine.

This was reported by Reuters citing a source in the US administration.

The topic of the meeting between the two heads of US and Russian intelligence agencies was to discuss the danger of Moscow's nuclear threats against Ukraine, as well as the fate of US prisoners who are held in Russia.

The Kremlin said that the talks had been an initiative of the US side.

A White House statement stressed that Burns had not held any talks on resolving the conflict and that Washington would firmly adhere to the fundamental principle of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine".

Most likely, the main purpose of the meeting is to convey once again the consequences of the use of nuclear weapons to Russia.
