AFU manages to regain some lost ground - Zaluzhniy
The number of weapons at the front and their timely use guarantees success in battle, Zelenski stressed.
The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, said during a telephone conversation with the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, that the Ukrainian defenders continue to hold Bakhmut under control, fierce battles continue near Ugledar and Maryinka, there are also recovered previously lost positions.
The tensest situation today is in the Donetsk direction, here the enemy launches up to 50 attacks every day. Fierce fighting continues near Ugledar and Marinka. We are holding the defence reliably. In some parts of the front we managed to restore previously lost positions and consolidate there. Despite constant pressure from the enemy, we continue to hold Bakhmut under control and are taking measures to stabilize the front line around this city," Zaluzhny said.
At the same time, the commander-in-chief stressed that the outcome of the battle largely depends on effective firing, which requires an appropriate amount of weapons and ammunition.
In addition, Zaluzhny in his conversation with Milli referred to the enemy's latest missile attack and emphasized the importance of air defenses.
The commander-in-chief expressed concern about Russia's use of naval surface drones, which poses a threat to civilian navigation in the Black Sea.
