Strikes on both sides of the Crimean Bridge: Zelenskyy announced that Russia’s key logistics and air defence systems had been destroyed
Ukrainian forces have carried out strikes on military infrastructure in Crimea and in the area around the Crimean Bridge. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the strikes have targeted logistics facilities, the oil industry and the Russian Federation’s air defence systems.
Ukrainian forces have carried out a series of long-range strikes against Russian military infrastructure in occupied Crimea and in the areas around the Crimean Bridge. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Telegram channel, describing the operation as a response to Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities.
According to the head of state, the operation involved the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Special Operations Forces. The strikes were carried out at a distance of around 300 kilometres from the front line and targeted military logistics facilities, oil infrastructure and air defence systems.
Last night, our long-range strikes targeted the occupiers’ military logistics, oil industry and air defence systems. All of this is a just response to Russia’s brutal attacks on our people. I would like to thank the officers of the SBU, SBS, GUR and SSO for their successful operations carried out some 300 kilometres from the front line,” wrote the Head of State.
Strikes on logistics and air defence
Zelenskyy stated that damage had been recorded on both sides of the Crimean Bridge. This refers to maritime infrastructure for transporting oil in the Krasnodar Krai, as well as an oil depot in the temporarily occupied city of Kerch. In addition, military logistics facilities, four radar stations forming part of the S-400 systems, and two Pantsir air defence systems were targeted.
The President emphasised that the attacks were part of a response to Russian shelling of Ukrainian territory.
“Russia only understands force, and our long-range capabilities are working for peace,” Zelenskyy noted, thanking the Ukrainian military for their precision and professionalism.
Earlier, the Unmanned Systems Forces Command reported a large-scale operation against Russian targets in Crimea, including gas compressor stations and fuel logistics facilities.
According to estimates by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), regular strikes on Russia’s transport infrastructure are already causing serious problems for the supply of Russian troops in occupied Crimea and on the southern fronts.
