The Air Force explained why it shoots down Russian missiles and drones within city limits

The speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, explained on air during a telethon why missiles and drones fired by the Russian Federation are shot down within populated areas.
In particular, he pointed out that air defence assets near cities are located as densely as possible for greater efficiency.
"If we disperse the air defence and move it further away, it will play into the hands of the Rashists and they will be able to take advantage of gaps in the defence by launching missiles into the resulting 'windows'," he pointed out.
He added that the air defence means that Ukraine has now, which are both old Soviet systems and those provided by partners, are not enough to take Ukraine into a protective ring.
