Zelensky's visit to the U.S. What they talked about with Biden and the message to Congress

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made his first trip abroad since the start of Russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine. He went to the USA to meet US President Joe Biden and to address a joint session of the US Senate and the US House of Representatives.

Immediately after his arrival in the US, Zelenski went to the White House, where Joe Biden and his wife were already waiting for him.

The talks between Biden and Zelenski included several important points.

First, the US president assured Ukraine of his support and said that the American people will stand by the Ukrainians until the war is won.

The United States will stand by the brave people of Ukraine for as long as necessary.

In addition, details of the new aid package, which the U.S. will transfer to Ukraine. The new aid package will amount to a record $1 billion 850 million. The package will include modern Patriot air defense systems, which the Ukrainian government has been asking for for a long time.

Joe Biden also said that the meeting was a critical message to Putin.

For Putin and for everyone else it was very important to see that President Zelensky and I are united, the two countries together. He (Putin) will not be able to succeed.

Zelensky, in turn, thanked Biden and the people of the U.S. for their support. And he conveyed his message to Putin. In his view, Putin today must think about preserving Russia as such.

He should be interested today in making the world pay attention to him. He is no longer the subject of (relations) of civilized people. To preserve at least something of the culture and history of his people and his state.

Zelensky also presented Biden with an award from a Ukrainian HIMARS battery captain, which he had previously received from a military man in Bakhmut.

Immediately after his meeting with Joe Biden, Zelensky went to the United States Congress. There, the Ukrainian president thanked for his help and called for further action against Russian aggression together. He also asked for continued financial support for Ukraine.
