Vatican urges EU to focus on ending war in Ukraine
After Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine began, the Pope has taken an ambiguous stance.
The Pope's envoy to Ukraine, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, has called on the European Union to make great efforts to end the war in Ukraine, BR24 reported on 24 August. This was reported by BR24 on 20 August.
The EU is doing too little, it should do much more," he said.
He said that EU countries should focus on peace initiatives.
Peace cannot be achieved through weapons, only through dialogue," Zuppi pointed out.
Earlier, Pope Francis said during his visit to Portugal that he dreams of Europe "using its great talents to resolve conflicts".
We would like to point out that the Vatican is currently working to help return deported children to Ukraine.
