New rules for the dismissal of employees began to work in Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada during the martial law changed some provisions on labor. In particular, additional grounds have been adopted for the dismissal of employees at the initiative of the owners, and it is also allowed to increase the working day. On July 1, 262 people's deputies voted for the adoption of bill No. 7251 "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on the Optimization of Labor Relations" with the minimum required 226.

According to the new initiative, you can dismiss an employee during martial law:

• when the employer cannot provide the employee with the workload specified in the employment contract due to the destruction (absence) of production, organizational and technical conditions, means of production or property of the employer as a result of hostilities;
• if the employee is not at work and information about the reasons for his absence for 4 months.

In the first case, the dismissal provides for advance notification not only of the employee, but also of the primary trade union organizations, and in the case of mass dismissal, also of the State Employment Service.

The bill also provides for the possibility of increasing working hours - up to 60 hours a week. The employer must have reasons for such a decision, and compensation for working on weekends will again have to be paid (which was canceled earlier during martial law).

The bill also provides for the execution of all documents on labor relations in electronic form , including messages for the employee. In this case, the employer must indicate which communication channel, the messenger will be considered official.
