A Russian soldier who beat a young man with a disability to death in 2018 was buried with honours in the Urals.

This was reported by the local edition of e1.ru.

The publication reports that Alexander Kashnikov went to war in Ukraine directly from the colony, where he was serving a sentence for the brutal murder of 20-year-old disabled Dima Rudakov.

In 2018, this story gained notoriety in Russia. A company of schoolchildren beat a young man to death, while filming the massacre on video, and his naked body was thrown near garages.

Kashnikov was 14 years old at the time, so he received the shortest sentence - eight and a half years in prison. He served half of them and left to fight in Ukraine.

Alexander Kashnikov was escorted to his last journey with military honours. He went to war in June 2023, and on 2 July he died during an artillery bombardment.
