Man attacked in Prague after mistaking him for a Ukrainian - media


At least five people beat the victim.
A group of men attacked a passerby in central Prague, allegedly mistaking him for a Ukrainian. The Czech police said in a statement.
According to the police, the five attackers severely beat one man. He was badly injured and nearly lost one eye.
The attack was so severe that the victim suffered irreversible consequences," the police said in a statement.
It is noted that forensic experts from the anti-extremism and anti-terrorism unit of the Prague police are investigating the case in the context of "bodily injury due to the victim's nationality".

The police have already gone through the security cameras. Law enforcers are looking for the suspects.
If proven guilty, the attackers face a maximum sentence of eight years in prison.
It should be noted that there is growing tension between Roma and Ukrainians in the Czech Republic. A Ukrainian allegedly killed a Roma man in Brno. After this, representatives of the national minorities (Roma) called for street protests against Ukrainians staying in the country.
