The reason for the searches was an "anonymous call".

The call came from a phone number starting with 044 (Kiev area code - ed.) with a message that a crime had allegedly been committed in Ilver Ametov's house.

The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, said:

Russian punishers have broken into the home of Sudak regional Majlis head Ilver Ametov in Sudak and are conducting a search.

Chubarov added:

In occupied Crimea, illegal invasions of Crimean Tatar homes by Russian punishers and searches based on allegedly anonymous calls are common. In fact, the "calls" are made up by the FSSB.

In fact, the "calls" are made up by the FSB.
