GUR told how many Russian military personnel are in temporarily occupied territories in southern Ukraine

According to the SDBU, 152,000 Russian troops remain in the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions.

The occupiers' actions show that they are preparing to defend themselves. Civilians, including personnel of the nuclear power plant in Energodar, are being forced to evacuate.

We are talking about people who deliberately worked for the aggressor, or were forced to do so. They are told that hostilities will start there soon and that this territory will be shelled and bombed, so they are persuaded to leave and continue working with the Russians," a representative of the Main Directorate of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andriy Cherniak, told the RBK-Ukraine news agency.

According to the Ukrainian military intelligence representative, Russian forces are using the so-called "evacuation" from the occupied territories of southern Ukraine as a cover for counterintelligence and filtration operations.

They, firstly, do not want the population to be able to observe their preparations for fighting - these are certain counter-intelligence measures. These are also filtration measures because, firstly, the pro-Ukrainian population is being forcibly removed. And thirdly, the Russians are afraid of some kind of guerrilla movement and internal resistance in these territories," Andrey Cherniak said.

At the same time, according to the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's spokesman, there has been no withdrawal of Russian military units from either Zaporizhzhya or Kherson regions. There are approximately 152,000 enemy troops on the occupied territories of these two regions, and all their actions indicate that they are preparing for defence.
