Since July 31, 2022, the program for providing refugees from Ukraine with housing has been curtailed in Tbilisi. It is reported by Georgia Online .

It is known that since March, the Tbilisi City Hall has settled refugees in various hotels with three meals a day. As part of this program, the city received about 5,100 people, today more than 2,300 Ukrainians live in hotels. Budget expenditures for such support will reach 14 million GEL by the end of July. However, the program will no longer work.

From July 15, Ukrainian refugees will receive monthly financial assistance. It is set at 300 lari (about $100) per family and 45 lari ($16) extra per person. In addition, international organizations (World Vision and UNHCR) are considering an aid package of ₾235 ($80) per person.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine , according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Georgia has received more than 60,000 Ukrainian refugees. Most of them are from Eastern Ukraine, from the territory occupied by Russia , who fled the war through Russian territory and reached Georgia by land route.

Before arriving in Georgia, they passed filtration camps, the territory of the aggressor country and many other obstacles.
