There are thousands of vacancies for Ukrainians in Greece.
Greece's tourism sector claims an acute shortage of labor resources. Due to a shortage of hands, employees are being sought among refugees in Poland. About this writes the publication Interia .
We are talking about more than 50 thousand vacancies.
The industry is counting on the fact that most of them will be occupied by refugees from Ukraine.
The reason for the shortage of workers is a wave of layoffs of young Greeks and a refusal to do hard work for little pay. On May 1, Greece raised the minimum wage to 714 euros. Many locals prefer to be content with unemployment benefits of 400 euros and not work.
More than 25,000 Ukrainian refugees have now found temporary shelter in Greece. More than 10 thousand of them have already received a residence permit and the right to work. Most people have access to just work in the hotel and restaurant industry, where knowledge of English is enough.
According to the publication, the level of hotel bookings in Greece indicates that in the 2022 season tourism in the country will reach pre-pandemic levels.
