A drone exhibition was taking place in the Chernihiv Drama Theatre when it was hit by a Russian missile. There were many civilians there at that moment.

The death toll in Chernihiv has risen to seven people. This is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The agency said that they found the body of a woman. Her identity is still unknown.

A total of 90 wounded people, including 10 police officers and 12 children, have applied for medical care. 25 people were hospitalised. According to Interior Minister Klymenko, one of the injured - a 12-year-old girl is taken by resuscitation vehicle to Kiev, the child is in serious condition. A 6-year-old severely injured girl died.

People who were in Chernihiv's central square or walking from the church where they were consecrating fruit on Apple Saviour (Transfiguration of the Lord) were hit," the Interior Ministry said.

A headquarters for liquidation of the consequences of the missile strike has been set up in Chernihiv, the head of the OVA, Chaus, has said.

According to him, the restoration of damaged houses will start soon and all necessary assistance will be provided to the victims, including material aid.

20 investigative and operational teams of Chernihiv police and 2 forensic laboratories are working on the site.

Meanwhile, a scandal has already erupted in the network because of the drone exhibition, which was organised in the city centre in the premises of the theatre. Online users blamed the organisers of the exhibition and those who had advertised the event in advance.

Maria Berlinskaia, an employee of the Dignitas Fund (one of the co-organisers of the exhibition), said that the event was initially agreed with the regional state administration. According to her, similar exhibitions were held without incidents in Kiev, Lviv, Dnipro and Kharkiv - also with the approval of the authorities.

The event was officially co-ordinated with the local authorities in advance, the venue was provided by the local authorities. The announcement that there would be an event was in the public domain. But the specific location was only informed (!) to the registered (!) verified participants just hours before the event. All the data of the participants were provided to the relevant authorities. Now we are working with the Security Service of Ukraine to provide all the necessary data for a prompt investigation," Berlinska said.
