The founder of the "Megamarch in Vyshyvanki", public figure, biochemist, senior soldier and combat medic Andriy Babynsky died on the front on 8 August

This was reported on the Facebook page of the project.

8 August 2023 in the battle for Ukraine, defending its freedom and independence at the cost of his own life, senior soldier Andriy Babynsky heroically died near the village of Krasnaya Krinitsa, Orekhovsky district of Zaporizhzhya region from Russian artillery shelling with cluster munitions, - stated in the message.

It is noted that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Babynskyi defended Ukraine as part of the 97th battalion of the 107th brigade of the Territorial Defence Forces, where he received a specialty of combat medic.

Later he fought in the Kharkiv region and near Bakhmut. And in the summer of 2023, he was transferred to the 80th ODShBr and participated in the Ukrainian counter-offensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction. Dreaming of liberating Crimea.

The organisation noted that Babinsky was an outstanding, talented personality:

A reliable friend, always witty, sincere, savvy, easy going, purposeful. After all, from a procession of a few people in 2008, the megagrandiose march in embroidered vyshyvanki grew to a multi-thousand and landmark international event, - said in the note.

Andriy was also one of the popularisers of the game "Kryivka" - a patriotic alternative to "Mafia", and co-organiser of several cultural and artistic events in Kyiv and other cities: concerts, festivals, lectures, film screenings, ethno-parties and flat parties, where patriotic youth gathered.

In 2013-2014, he was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity from the first days of the protests.
