Ukrainian IT army broke Russia's Leonardo ticket booking system, thus halting the work of Russia's largest airports

This was reported by Mikhail Fedorov, the head of the Ministry of Digitisation, in his Telegram channel.

The IT army is active, almost every day Russian websites go down, data leaks and the work of government agencies is paralysed. One of the latest cases is the shutdown of Russia's largest airports. The IT army broke Russia's Leonardo airline booking system," the official wrote.

On 28 September, Russian airlines claimed difficulties in passenger check-in at airports due to a glitch in the Leonardo booking system of Sirena-Travel, a company linked to the Rostec state corporation.

The Leonardo system controls flight schedules, passenger transfers, and sales management. Stopping this IT mechanism would paralyse the air harbour. And everyone who didn't go through online check-in beforehand simply couldn't get a ticket and get on the plane.

It was reported that problems with passenger check-in were observed on flights of Aeroflot, Rossiya, Azur Air, Red Wings, Pobeda and Ural Airlines.

Fyodorov, however, said that the cyber offensive would continue. He noted that if Ukrainian airports cannot work because of the war, Russian airports should not work either.

The ІТ-army is constantly pumping skils, replenishing its ranks and preparing new "surprises" for the Russians. Ukraine will win, including in cyberspace," the minister added.

For reference, the IT Army of Ukraine is a community of IT specialists that united Ukrainian and foreign professionals. It was created at the end of February 2022 to neutralise the enemy in information and cyberspace. The IT army includes more than 200 thousand volunteers.
