Ukrainian Armed Forces Attack Buildings Where North Korean Soldiers Might Be – El Pai

Ukrainian artillerymen have struck several buildings in the Kursk region where North Korean military personnel were likely to be located.
It is still unknown whether they have been eliminated. The El Pais newspaper quoted representatives of the Ukrainian State Border Service as saying that Russia was planning to increase the number of its troops at the expense of soldiers from the DPRK in order to increase pressure on Ukrainian positions.
The Ukrainian General Staff estimates that Russia has sent 40,000 troops to defend Kursk. The North Korean soldiers will increase the size of the Russian army by 25 per cent, allowing Russia's more experienced troops to continue advancing on other parts of the front," the report said.
The publication added that most of the invaders in Kurshchina are new recruits with no combat experience. That is why the Russian military leadership decided to reinforce them with fighters from the DPRK.
Military personnel from the DPRK were sent to the Russian Federation after agreements between Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-in.
It is reported that the first North Korean units have already arrived in Kurshchina, but there are cases of desertion among them. According to Ukrainian intelligence, some 18 soldiers from the "special Buryat battalion" have abandoned their positions.
It is estimated that about 12,000 DPRK troops will appear at the front. They are expected to be deployed as early as the end of October 2024. Despite this, the US does not confirm the presence of North Korean troops in Ukraine, but admits that they may be involved in the fighting in Kursk region.
