Ukraine's future in NATO - German ambassador to Ukraine

the NATO anniversary summit ended in the United States on 11 July. At the summit, the bloc's member states announced that they would provide Ukraine with 40bn euros over 2025.
The NATO summit in Washington in July 2024 was an important step towards Ukraine's membership in the organisation. German ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger said this.
He noted the support of the Alliance member states for Ukraine and stressed that all of them were ready to make long-term commitments to assist Kiev in its resistance to Russian aggression. In addition, Ukraine has heard what it has longed for - the Allies have confirmed the inevitability of Ukraine's membership in NATO.
We are much further ahead. So we are saying to Ukraine: your future is in NATO, and the path there is irreversible. There is no way back, there is only one direction, and that is towards NATO membership," he said.
Moreover, Jaeger pointed to the growing military ties between Ukraine and individual countries and assured that co-operation between Germany and Ukraine will only grow, including in the military sphere.
He noted that Germany already provides a lot of military support to Ukraine.
In particular, we do a lot for air defence, we support artillery ammunition, we have supplied tanks and repair equipment. This year alone we have already planned more than seven billion euros. This amount will probably be even higher," the diplomat promised.
