Ukraine will start supplying Moldova with electricity

The supply is planned to begin today, June 4.
This was reported by the press service of Energoatom.
Thanks to the export, Energoatom will receive an additional source for financing the special duties entrusted to it to supply electricity to the population.
In addition, this will allow Moldova to diversify the supply of electricity and strengthen its energy security, according to Energoatom.
SE NNEGC Energoatom, the largest electricity producer in Ukraine, signed an export contract with the Moldovan state company Energocom. According to the agreements, Energoatom plans to supply 85.2 thousand MWh of electricity to Moldova in June at a price of $77 per 1 MWh.
In turn, thanks to the export, Energoatom will receive an additional source for financing the JI, through which electricity is supplied to the population.
Energoatom has great potential to increase the volume of electricity production, so its export to Moldova, and then to neighboring EU countries, is an extremely promising area of the Company's trading activities.
Energy consumption in Moldova is largely dependent on generation at the Moldavskaya GRES, owned by Russia. Ukrainian exports will allow the country to diversify the supply of electricity and enhance its energy security.
Recall that Ukraine and Moldova together went through a difficult path of integration with the European ENTSO-E. The power systems of both countries were fully synchronized with the power grid of continental Europe in mid-March 2022. Today, Ukraine and Moldova continue their partnership and deepen cooperation.
