Ukraine expands reasons for disbanding volunteer formations

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has expanded the grounds for disbanding volunteer formations of territorial communities, which is enshrined in amendments to the Regulation on Volunteer Formations.
According to the government's representative in parliament, Taras Melnychuk, there are now additional reasons for the termination of volunteer formations, as well as a procedure for withdrawing certificates from territorial defence volunteers if they disband or complete their contracts.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the possibility of extending the reservation for critical infrastructure workers in order to maintain stable operation of strategically important enterprises, especially those related to defence. Employees booked until 31 May 2024 will be able to extend their bookings.
The government has also announced an audit of critical enterprises, which will be completed by 15 November. The purpose of this audit is to prevent malpractices and strengthen the country's defence capability as a significant increase in the number of businesses with this status and workers with reservation has been recorded.
