Ukraine returns bodies of 64 more fallen soldiers

Thebodies of the fallen defenders of Ukraine will be handed over to law enforcers and forensic experts to establish the identities of the dead. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

In turn, the Ukrainian side, in accordance with the norms of the International Humanitarian Law, handed over to the Russian side the bodies (remains) of combatants who died (died) in connection with the armed aggression against Ukraine," the statement said.

It is reported that the AFU will ensure proper and safe transportation of repatriated bodies (remains) of the dead (deceased) defenders of Ukraine for their transfer to law enforcement and forensic medical bodies in order to conduct procedural actions and forensic examinations necessary to establish the identity of the dead.

It is stressed that Ukraine has not ceased and continues actively to take all possible legal measures within the framework of the norms of International Humanitarian Law to establish the whereabouts of defenders of Ukraine who have gone missing or been taken prisoner in connection with the armed aggression against Ukraine.
