Russian propagandists have reported that dictator Vladimir Putin had a new conversation with US President Donald Trump.
US President Donald Trump and Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation lasting about 50 minutes, during which they discussed key international conflicts.
Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov told TASS that one of the main issues was the conflict between Israel and Iran. Putin expressed Russia's readiness to mediate the tensions between these countries and condemned Israel's actions. In response, Trump characterised the situation as "alarming", while noting the high effectiveness of Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
In addition, during the conversation, the leaders discussed the prospects for peace talks on the Russia-Ukraine war. Putin said that Russia is ready to resume dialogue with Ukraine after June 22. Trump, in turn, reiterated his intention to contribute to ending the conflict as soon as possible.
This is already the second telephone conversation between the politicians in June - earlier they communicated on the 4th of June. Then the US President said that they discussed the Ukrainian operation to defeat Russian aircraft, "as well as various other attacks taking place on both sides".
It was a good conversation, but not the kind of conversation that will lead to immediate peace. President Putin said, and very forcefully, that he would have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields," the White House chief said at the time.
