Traitor who led a convoy of occupier's equipment into Kiev received 15 years in prison

According to the SBU, during the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, a traitor in his own car "led" a convoy of enemy equipment from Sumy Region to the outskirts of Kiev. In total, the convoy contained 128 units of military equipment, including tanks, armoured personnel carriers and self-propelled artillery units.

This military equipment was part of the "advanced" units of the occupation groups of Russia, which were tasked to storm the capital of our country from the north-eastern direction. During the war, the above-mentioned column of enemy troops was destroyed by Ukrainian defenders, - reported in the SBU.

The collaborator himself returned to Sumy region, where even after his release he continued to work for the FSB. On the instructions of the enemy intelligence service man intelligence on the disposition and armament of the Defence Forces in the region.

The attacker was detained in August 2022. A mobile phone was seized from him, with the help of which he contacted the Russian intelligence service.

According to investigators, the hostile henchman turned out to be a local resident who was recruited by the Russian secret service on the eve of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Among his main tasks was to ensure the "navigation" of the aggressor's military columns along the shortest routes to Kiev," the security service added.

Thanks to the collected evidence, the court found the man guilty of high treason (parts 1 and 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The convict will spend 15 years behind bars.
