There is a new aggravation in Avdiivka. The Russians are not giving up their attempts to encircle the town

The shelling continued throughout the night. Around the clock we hear gun battles from the positions. They hit with everything they have. A conditional "decrease" of the degree of tension, which has been in our direction for several days, unfortunately yesterday we saw the opposite aggravation, the number of shelling on the territory of the community increased, the number of air strikes increased, not only on our community and on the neighbouring, Ocheretinskaya community, - he said.

Barabash states that the Russians do not leave attempts to encircle the city, "to find gaps in the defence line" of the AFU.

Well, they compensate all their failures by the number and massiveness of artillery and missile strikes, - added the head of the MVA.

In recent days, the Russians have staged a large-scale offensive on Avdeevka, which has not happened since 2014. Even yesterday morning in the city was relatively quiet, but Barabash claimed - a new aggravation is expected.

Barabash also said that humanitarian aid was not being brought to Avdiivka because of the escalation of hostilities.

We even stopped bringing humanitarian aid for the period of aggravation, although it is available in the city, there is food, there is medicine in sufficient quantity, there are reserves, - stated the head of the MVA.

At the same time, the evacuation of civilians continues, about 1,600 people remain in the city.

The evacuation continues little by little: yesterday we took out 4 people, and the day before yesterday 9. I hope that such circumstances will still make people a little bit, apparently, to make a decision to evacuate, - he said.

Note that until 2020, the population of Avdeevka was about 32 thousand people.

The speaker of the Joint press centre of the defence forces of the Taurian direction Shtupun in the air of the telethon said that over the past day near Avdeevka was shot down a Russian Su-25.

With the support of aviation the enemy continues to try to encircle Avdeevka, our soldiers for the past 24 hours repelled 3 enemy attacks and shot down 1 more enemy Su-25 attack aircraft. This is the fifth aircraft shot down in Donetsk region over the past 10 days," Shtupun said.
