The Fund signed an agreement with ICEYE, according to which the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will have full access to all the capabilities of one of the ICEYE satellites.

In mid-July, the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation announced the collection of 600 million hryvnias for the purchase of Bayraktar TB2 attack drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The collection was completed in a few days. The Turkish company Baykar donated three TB2 drones to Ukraine. And Prytula promised to use the collected funds for other needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today, the fund announced the "purchase" of the satellite, as ICEYE confirmed in a press release. This was reported on the fund's Facebook page.

ICEYE satellites, which Ukraine bought, allow observing the Earth in the microwave range, and taking pictures of the surface at any time of the day and under any weather conditions, even through clouds.

The operating company will also provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with access to a database of satellite images of its entire constellation of satellites for more than a year.

In turn, ICEYE also spoke about the deal.

The deal will transfer all the capabilities of one of its satellites, already in orbit, for use by the government of Ukraine over the region, the company said.

From now on, our army will receive high-quality satellite images as quickly as possible, which will help us with operational planning of operations. There will be a lot of Claps," Prytula announced.

ICEYE showed a satellite image taken over the Crimean bridge.

Sergei Prytula also thanked Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov for his trust.

We coped with the task that you set us, and we are waiting for new ones. You can safely report to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief that the satellite is ours,” said Sergei Prytula.

The head of the fund also turned to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov.

Now the satellite is in the arsenal of your department,” Pritula said.

Today, ICEYE has the most advanced radar satellite imagery technology. This agreement is a serious step in meeting the critical needs of the Ukrainian government for surveillance data and significant assistance to our Armed Forces,” Serhiy Prytula summed up.

Andrey Yusov, the speaker of the Main Intelligence Directorate, explained why Ukraine needs “its own satellite”.

Yes, of course, we had such data, including our own. But such help is needed because it enhances our capabilities. Access to the satellite will enhance the capabilities of scouts. Up to this point, Ukraine has been actively exchanging various information with partners, including satellite images. This is definitely a plus,” he said in a media comment.
