The official poster of the Ukrainian film "Mavka. A Real Myth."

Magical love story: the official poster of the film "Mavka. A Real Myth".
The team of the film's creators presents the official poster of the film.
According to the message, it opens to the audience a completely new story of the mawka, inspired by Ukrainian authentic legends.
The visual symbols of the poster - fern and lily of the valley - have a deep meaning. According to ethnologist Volodymyr Halaichuk, they refer to the Kupal myth and Rusal week, emphasising the boundary between the water element and the magic of the forest.
The events of the film unfold in an alternative present among the ancient forests of Ukraine. On the eve of the Short Night, mythical creatures emerge from the Dark Lake, and Mavka is faced with a choice: her feelings for Lukyan, an ordinary guy, come into conflict with the dark nature of the forest nymphs.
The main roles in the film were played by Arina Bocharova and Ivan Dovzhenko as Mavka and Lukyan.
The film was directed by Katerina Tsarik.
"Mavka. The real myth" will appear in cinemas from 1 March 2026.
As you know, the film is based on the drama-fairy "Lisova pisnya" Lesya Ukrainka.
