The Kyiv region will be cleared by a robot dog Spot
Ukraine will receive from the United States a Spot robot from Boston Dynamics to clear de-occupied territories around the capital.
This is reported by Khmarochos with reference to Foreign Policy .
The transfer to Ukraine of one of the two existing substitute robots was announced by Chris Whitley, executive director of the non-profit organization HALO Trust, which is engaged in demining, including now in Ukraine. Its employees will use the Boston Dynamics robot.
According to Whitley, during the tests, Spot performed well in the manipulation of small unstable objects. It is planned that the robot will also move unexploded mines to places where they can be safely detonated. On difficult terrain, the robot is controlled by the operator.
There are other types of demining robots in the world. But they are not suitable for every area. For example, the MV-4 weighs seven tons and cannot move through the forest.
