The GSD told about the results of using the "people's satellite"

Specialists of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Defence Ministry have taken 4,173 images of enemy objects using the "people's satellite" ICEYE. This was reported by the GUR on 26 June.

The GUR has been using the ICEYE spacecraft to identify enemy targets and protect Ukraine for almost two years.

The new level of quality and efficiency of receiving intelligence data became possible thanks to donations from Ukrainians, which were directed to the purchase of the satellite at the request of the Ministry of Defence.

It is very important that reconnaissance from Earth orbit allows receiving data both in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and in other places on the planet where military forces and means of terrorist Russia are located," the report said.

During the period of use of the "people's satellite" and access to ICEYE satellites, specialists of the GSD made a total of 4173 images of enemy objects, among them:

• 370 - airfields;
• 238 - air defence and radio-technical reconnaissance positions;
• 153 - oil depots and fuel depots;
• 147 - warehouses of missile, aviation weapons and ammunition;
• 17 - naval bases.

Also in the lens of ICEYE are the points of permanent deployment of enemy forces, its training grounds, military camps, centres of mobilisation deployment - this allows to track the dynamics of Russia's movements with personnel, to reveal its military intentions in order to disrupt them.

"The People's Satellite allows to monitor the objects of the aggressor's military-industrial complex and its logistics network, which includes the illegal bridge between Russia and occupied Crimea," the GUR said.

The advantage of the ICEYE spacecraft lies in its ability to clearly distinguish clusters of even carefully camouflaged enemy mechanised units in the "greenery".

The power of the "people's satellite" is able to accurately identify the kind and type of detected enemy combat aircraft, ships, air defence equipment, as well as to record the level of damage on the affected enemy objects.

About 38% of the entire data set obtained thanks to ICEYE was used for direct preparation of fire attack against the enemy - that's billions of dollars in losses for the Russian Federation.

Earlier Socialportal reported that the GUR announced the first public recruitment campaign for units called "Bet Plus".
