The AFU reported how many missiles and drones were shot down in 730 days of full-scale warfare
Almost every day Russia fires missiles and drones into our country's territory.
Over two years of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Air Force managed to shoot down 1,905 missiles of various types. This was reported by the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, in Telegram.
Two years of the great war. 730 days of air attacks. It is not easy to record the statistics of our "military routine", because it is updated almost every hour. It is updated with Russian A-50s and "Suskas", Iranian "Shaheds" and "invincible missiles", hostile control points, cruisers, submarines and entire fleet headquarters," he wrote.
According to Oleshchuk, in general, the Air Force in cooperation with the Defence Force destroyed:
- 1,905 missiles of different types, among them: 43 ballistic and 25 aeroballistic - Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal"
- 4,844 attack drones
- 7,660 tactical-level UAVs
- 340 aeroplanes
- 325 helicopters
Oleshchuk thanked the military for the destroyed enemy targets and successful combat work. He expressed hope that Ukraine would soon be assisted by F-16 fighter jets.
According to media reports, the first F-16 fighter jets will be in the Ukrainian sky tentatively in June 2024.
