The weather in Ukraine could affect the course of military operations, as the rains will make it more difficult to move equipment, as well as to use aircraft and attack drones.
One of the main tasks for the Ukrainian defenders for the winter remains to block and eliminate the main logistical routes of the Russian invaders, which they use to move military equipment, manpower and provisions. This was stated by a representative of the AFU Ground Forces Command Volodymyr Fityo on the air of a telethon on Sunday, 19 November.
Fitio pointed out that the AFU will try to interrupt the logistical routes of the Russians in winter.
So that they would be hungry, cold and they would have no desire to fight," the speaker said.
He also said that the Russians should prepare for "surprises" from the sky.
Our main task is to ensure that everything that is happening now helps the Ukrainian Armed Forces and, conversely, brings harm to the Russian occupiers," he said.
Earlier, the speaker said that the weather will contribute to the conduct of hostilities.
If it rains now, the use of both aviation and attack drones will be reduced. Accordingly, it will be more difficult for equipment to move. But again, artillery will continue to be used," he said.
He pointed out that lower temperatures will play into the hands of Ukrainian defenders.
If we succeed, I think we will freeze them out with the help of weather - rain and frost," he said.
