Tests of the new Sea Baby maritime drone shown by the SBU

The SBU has demonstrated the first Sea Baby maritime drone, which was manufactured thanks to a large-scale volunteer fundraiser. This was reported by the SBU on 6 March.

"In record time, thanks to Ukrainian businesses, international donors and Ukrainians, almost 300 million hryvnias were collected for 35 SBU Sea Baby marine drones," the security service said.

The first sample in this batch was named "Avdeevka". It differs from the previous generation, including the appearance. "Sea baby" 2024 is a drone of a new generation, which is improved and even more deadly for the enemy.

The future is precisely for technological approaches in warfare. The SBU today is trying to be the first in this direction, and it really succeeds. In the ranks of the service we have raised unique specialists in marine drones to further improve and scale the work to clear the Black Sea of the enemy. Our task is to destroy the invaders and bring Victory closer, - said the head of the SBU Vasyl Malyuk.

Like every marine drone model, the Avdeevka will undergo a full cycle of sea trials. In the process, the SBU development team will adapt the latest onboard armament, specially designed and manufactured for use on multi-purpose platforms, which are the Sea Baby.

The new SeaBaby 2024 has advanced technical features, greater combat and manoeuvring capability. It is capable of delivering almost a tonne of explosives over a thousand kilometres. "The SBU conceived this drone as a universal platform, which will accommodate various weapons," said "Hunter", a brigadier general of the SBU.

The SBU recalled that it was with the help of maritime drones that the SBU blew up the Crimean bridge and hit a total of 11 Russian warships.
