A few animals from the flooded zoo in Nova Kakhovka were rescued

The animals survived because they were taken home by a female employee, the zoo's Facebook page said.

Yesterday, after the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka reservoir, information emerged about the flooding of the local amusement park that contained the zoo, Fairy Oaks. Employees reported that almost all animals were drowned and only swans managed to escape.

However, zoo officials said today that there were other surviving animals. In particular, parrots, guinea pigs, chinchillas and others.

It is noted that the animals were rescued from the flood by a zoo employee who took them home.

Information on the Fairy Oaks animals that were able to be rescued is being clarified. Yesterday the workers, in a state of shock, gave me some not entirely accurate information. Some of the animals were not on the territory of Dibrova, but were at home with Valya [a zoo employee]. That's why they stayed alive! Our pet parrot Venya, flying squirrels, ferrets, parrots, chinchillas and guinea pigs escaped the flood," according to the administration of Fairy Oaks.

The workers are also asking for help from indifferent people. In particular, they are asking for chinchillas to be taken into custody.
