Criminal code changed to exchange Medvedchuk for Mariupol defenders

Medvedchuk was treated as a prisoner of war during the exchange.

Andriy Osadchuk, first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement Affairs, told this in an interview with the CHESTNO Movement.

Osadchuk said that the Verkhovna Rada Law Enforcement Committee has appealed to the SBU and the Office of the Prosecutor-General of the Verkhovna Rada Law Enforcement Committee.

Members of the committee worked out appropriate amendments to a number of codes of Ukraine adopted by a separate law in late July (No7436-d).

The exchange was then carried out according to a new procedure.
