The US reacts to a Russian missile over Moldova and Romania

Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukraine, with one of the missiles crossing into several countries.
Washington does not consider Romania or Moldova as likely targets of Russia's latest missile attack against Ukraine, which means there is no threat to these countries, Deputy State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said, according to Sky News.
He said that "there is no indication of a Russian military threat" to Moldova or Romania, thus responding to rumors of a possible NATO reaction to missiles flying in Romanian airspace.
At the same time, Patel noted that the US remains in close contact and communication with its Moldovan partners and Romanian allies.
Note that during the massive Russian missile attack on February 11, one of the Russian missiles crossed the Moldovan and Romanian airspace, as reported by the AFU chief commander Valeriu Zaluzhnyi.
on 11 February, at 10:18, two Russian Kalibr cruise missiles crossed the Ukrainian state border with the Republic of Moldova. At approximately 10:33, these missiles crossed Romanian airspace, after which they entered Ukrainian airspace again at the point where the three states crossed their borders," he said.
He added that the missiles were launched from the Black Sea waters.
The Moldovan Defence Ministry confirmed that the missile entered the airspace of the country, which was flying towards Ukraine.
In Romania, Defence Ministry spokesman Brigadier-General Constantin Spinu said that the information of the AFU commander-in-chief, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, about the missile flying over Romania was not confirmed.
However, he promised that the agency would make an official statement about the incident.
