Experts told what goods in Ukraine can become a shortage

In terms of commodity groups, food chains suffered the most.
The Association of Retailers of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers, which interviewed 295 large chains and small businesses, note that the losses of chain domestic retailers due to the full-scale invasion of Russia amount to 50.7 billion UAH.
The total volume of direct losses in the trade sector is estimated at UAH 50.7 billion (an average of UAH 30,475 per square meter of damaged retail outlets, or UAH 17.4 million per damaged store). A significant part of the losses - 41% - falls on damage to buildings, premises of shops, engineering networks, decoration and the like, the study says.
Losses on inventory balances in stores and equipment - 17%, loss of goods in warehouses - 14%, losses on warehouse, industrial, office buildings / premises and equipment in them amounted to 9%, another 2% are other losses.
However, experts predict that in the end the amount could be 3-4 times more.
In the context of product groups, food chains suffered the most - 60% of losses in the industry. In second place are fashion retailers, whose losses amounted to 11% of the trade industry. The three most affected sectors of trade include sellers of electronics and household appliances - 7% of losses in the industry, the report says.
In turn, the co-owner of the largest Ukrainian online retailer Rozetka, Vladislav Chechetkin, in an interview with Forbes , noted that the unstable hryvnia plus the destruction of the supply chain could lead to a problem with the range of a number of goods, including household appliances.
Basic refrigerator and washing machine will be, but if you want something special, then no, - he said.
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky in an interview with Ukrainian Radio noted that in the southern regions of Ukraine there were serious problems with the supply of vegetables due to the occupation by Russian troops. The shortage, he said, will affect young onions, carrots and beets, which were grown in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
He also admitted that this season will have to buy more imported products, which will immediately affect prices, such vegetables will be at least twice as expensive.
The worst situation can be expected with watermelons and melons, which are grown on an industrial scale in the Kherson region.
