Slovakia will not support military aid to Ukraine

Slovakia's new prime minister Robert Fitzo has said he will not support military aid to Ukraine, just as he said during the election campaign
He made this statement in a speech to members of the parliamentary committee on European affairs before the leaders' summit in Brussels.
Aktuality reports.
It is better to negotiate peace for 10 years than to kill each other for 10 years without any result," he said.
He also added that he believes that at this stage of the war Russia has "greater territorial gains than Ukraine".
In a speech to the committee, he also said he was not going to support European sanctions against Russia without assessing their impact on EU countries.
If the sanctions will harm us, I see no point in supporting them," Fitzo emphasised.
Background: Robert Fico was appointed prime minister after his pro-Russian Smer-SD party won early elections. Immediately after his victory, he confirmed that there would be no military aid to Ukraine.
Socialportal earlier reported that Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova said that the country would no longer provide Ukraine with military aid after the election victory of the anti-Ukrainian Smer party.
