SBU reports suspicion of the UOC Metropolitan (MP)

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has collected evidence against Vasyl Povoroznyuk, the metropolitan of the Luhansk diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC-MP), who cooperates with the Russian occupants in Luhansk. About it reports the SBU.

According to the investigation, in September 2022, the cleric arrived in the Kremlin to participate in the ceremony of the so-called "annexation" of the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.

In May of the same year, Povoroznyuk was at a roundtable meeting held in occupied Luhansk under the leadership of Gauleiter Pasechnik.

During numerous interviews for the Kremlin propagandists, the figure heroised the Russian occupiers and called for the continuation of the war against Ukraine," the report said.

Based on the collected evidence, SBU investigators informed Povoroznyuk of suspicion under part 1 of article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding and abetting the aggressor state).

Since the cleric is hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Region, complex measures are being continued to bring him to justice.
