The SBU has detained a Russian GRU agent who adjusted dozens of "shakhadovs" on Odessa.
The SBU counterintelligence service has detained in Odessa a member of the Russian network of agents of the Russian Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces(GRU). This is reported by the SBU.
The attacker gave the aggressor dozens of geolocations where, in her opinion, the AFU units were allegedly based.
In August this year, the SBU exposed and reported suspicion of two other members of this agent network. Among them are an agent with the operational pseudonym "Diezel" and his wife, who was a "liaison" of the Russian GRU and is now a fugitive from justice in St Petersburg.
Now a third person has been detained. The occupiers carried out targeted air strikes at her coordinates, primarily using Shahed-type kamikaze drones.
On the fuselages of enemy UAVs, the invaders made inscriptions "on behalf" of the pro-Kremlin Telegram channel, which the Russian military intelligence uses to recruit and cooperate with agents," the SBU said.
The attacker maintained communication with the coordinator of the agent network - Grigory Ivanov, a staff member of the 3rd operational department of the 316th intelligence centre of the Russian GRU, via an anonymous chat room in the popular messenger.
After the enemy strikes on Odessa, the figurehead reported to her "curator" about the consequences of the "arrivals". In addition, she conducted additional reconnaissance near Odessa facilities, which aroused "interest" in the military intelligence of the Russian Federation.
SBU officers detained the agent in her own home. According to the investigation, the enemy agent turned out to be a local businesswoman, who was remotely recruited by the Russian GRU in June this year.
Based on the collected evidence, SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
The attacker is in custody. She faces life imprisonment.
