Too many people remain unvaccinated in developing countries.

The death toll from the coronavirus has reached nearly 6.5 million. Every day this figure increases by several thousand deaths. Most of them are registered in the USA. There, since the beginning of the pandemic, 1 million 43 thousand people have died, Brazil - 683 thousand, India - 527 thousand, Mexico - 329 thousand, Russia - 376 thousand, Great Britain - 205 thousand, Italy - 175 thousand people. This is stated in the map of online observations of the spread of the disease.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, coronavirus has been diagnosed in 599 million 820 thousand people. The number of cases is growing, including in Ukraine.

As the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus noted at a press conference , the number of deaths this year from the consequences of the disease has already exceeded one million.

We cannot say we are learning to live with the coronavirus as 1 million people have died from COVID-19 this year when we have all the tools we need to prevent those deaths,” he said.

At the same time, the head of the organization drew attention to the fact that vaccination is still relatively weak. Especially in developing countries.

So far, one-third of the world's population remains unvaccinated, including two-thirds of health workers and three-quarters of older people in low-income countries, he said.

Recall that the government of Ukraine decided to extend the quarantine until the end of the year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Ministry of Health expects that the number of cases of coronavirus can jump sharply in the fall and winter. They also remind that the country continues the campaign to vaccinate the population.
