On the night of 29 July, the Russian army launched a missile strike on the town of Kamenskoye in Dnipropetrovsk Region. One of the victims was a 23-year-old pregnant woman named Diana. Her death was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA Serhiy Lysak, the missile struck the territory of the city hospital around two in the morning. The attack partially destroyed the three-storey building, which was not in use, but the maternity ward and wards of the ninth hospital were badly damaged. Two people died on the spot, the number of casualties later rose to three.
A total of five people were injured, among them two women in serious condition, one of whom was pregnant. All patients were evacuated to other medical centres. A skin and venereal dispensary, a children's polyclinic, and about 50 residential houses, where more than 300 windows were broken, were also seriously damaged. Two lyceums, a gymnasium and a kindergarten were damaged.
The mayor of Kamenskoye, Andrei Belousov, reported damage to the maternity and therapeutic departments, destroyed cars in the hospital car park and destruction in educational institutions. City transport routes were temporarily changed due to the shelling.
In addition to Kamenskoye, other settlements in the region were shelled the same night. In Nikopol district, artillery and drones hit Marganetska and Pokrovska communities and the city of Nikopol. Private houses, a shop, an entertainment establishment and a power line were damaged.
In Sinelnikivskyi district, the Russians used guided aerial bombs and FPV drones on Mezhevska, Dubovikivska and Slavyanska communities. Two civilians - a man and a 75-year-old woman - were killed and three others were injured. The strikes caused damage to private homes, petrol stations and administrative buildings.
