The Russian trawler Kapitan Lobanov sank after a missile hit it during an exercise of the Russian Baltic Fleet. This is reported by the Russian media.

The Russian trawler "Captain Lobanov" sank after being hit by a missile during exercises of the Baltic fleet of the Russian Federation, three crew members were killed, four more were injured, - the report says.

According to a relative of a member of the ship's crew, three crew members were killed and four were injured when a missile hit the ship on 19 March.

When the survivors were taken away, everyone knew very well that three people were killed. And everyone knew very well that a missile had hit. But they decided to write that there was a "fire". I wonder what kind of fire, if there is no captain's cabin, it was just blown away," he said.

According to the authorities of the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation, there was a fire on board the trawler, which resulted in the death of one person.

The injured are reportedly in hospital in the town of Pionersk, one of them in serious condition. In the hospital, the injured were questioned by FSB officers, who asked the crew members "not to spread" about the incident.

Earlier, the media found out on the basis of open data from the AIS automated tracking system that the Kapitan Lobanov could have got into the zone of the Russian Navy's Baltic Fleet exercises.
